Reducing Notifications
Inactive in slack channels
When you are no longer part of a project for a certain period of time you are recommended to leave the channel. You can always rejoin the channel when you work on the project again. Before you leave just let everyone know why you are leaving. Below is an example:
Ich bin hier grad nicht aktiv, also verlasse ich mal den Channel. Sollte was sein, einfach @-Mention.
Mentioning people while they are on holiday
- Try not to @-mention people on Slack, HelpScout or GitHub if they are on holiday 🌴 (As it isn’t assumed that the person reads them)
- Assigning HelpScout Emails and GitHub Issues is ok.
- The vacationist is not required to read through the unread messages after the holidays
- The vacationist asks a co-worker to bring them up to speed after the holidays
